SpaceX Joins the IAC 2023 in Baku

Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX), will participate at the 74th International Astronautical Congress to be hosted in Baku between 2nd and 6th October, 2023.

During her visit to Azerbaijan, Ms Gwynne Shotwell, President and Chief Operating Officer of SpaceX said: “It is my first visit to Azerbaijan and I am looking forward to coming back in October to support Azerbaijan in hosting the International Astronautical Congress, IAC 2023. Even more incredible that Baku will host this global space event second time, celebrating 50th anniversary since Azerbaijan hosted the event last time.”

Considering the IAC 2023 as “a milestone initiative at the global level”, Ms Shotwell confirms that SpaceX is going to join the event.

Within her visit, Ms Shotwell signed a cooperation agreement with Azercosmos, Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan for resale of the Starlink’s satellite-based high-speed, low-latency broadband internet in Azerbaijan and region. Apart from participation of SpaceX in the IAC 2023, Azercosmos discussed the possibilities of launching new satellites of Azerbaijan into orbit from Falcon rockets in the coming years.
