Azercosmos was represented at the Spring Meetings of the IAF

The delegation of Azercosmos participated in Spring Meetings of the International Astronautical Federation held in Paris, France on March 26-28, 2019.

Chairman of Azercosmos Rashad Nabiyev made a speech at the Spring Meetings of the International Astronautical Federation, to which Azercosmos is a member, and mentioned the role of Azerbaijan in the space industry. Then, Sevda Aliyeva, representing the State Tourism Agency, made presentations on Azerbaijan's culture, history as well as prosperity of tourism in the country.

Traditional annual Spring Meetings are considered to be one of the most important events of the Federation. Within the framework of the event, series of meetings were held with the participation of the President of International Astronautical Federation who is also the President of the National Center for Space Research (CNES) Jean-Yves Le Gall, a Bureau of Vice-Presidents and other relevant Committees. Broader discussions were held among the members of Federation on the works to be done in the field of astronautics throughout the year, the role of "new space industry" in global space arena and trends in this area.

Along with this, wide promotional campaigns were held during the Spring Meetings in order to hold the Federation's prestigious events in the future in Baku as well as to introduce Azerbaijan as a space nation.

At the Spring Meetings, the Director of the Czech Space Office Jan Kolář, who was the spokesperson for the delegation of Czech Republic, said that he participated in the 24th International Astronautical Congress hosted by Baku in 1973, and it was his first Congress. Jan Kolář emphasized that the charm of Baku yet at that time made an incredible impression on him.
